ESL (English as a Second Language)
Focus on Reading and Reading Strategies
Research shows that regular reading will improve comprehension and writing.
It sharpens your mind and boosts test scores.
Reading strategies can be used to help understand all forms of text
including stories, poetry, science, social studies and even math word problems.
Students should always carry a book. Students will be reading in each ESL class.
This is my seventh year teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to sixth, seventh and eighth graders at Clemmons Middle School. I continue to learn and discover many new things to incorporate into my lessons. It is my goal that each student improves as a speaker, listener, reader and writer of the English language.
