HOSA

Welcome. My name is Dan Hamilton and am excited to be here at Career Center and want to take this opportunity to invite you to the wonderful world of Health Sciences.

I retired from the health-care industry twelve years ago as the Director of Cardiopulmonary Services at Moses Cone Health Care System. I carry a teaching certificate both in Health Sciences and Middle School Science.

As part of the Allied Health Sciences Curriculum, we invite students to join our health occupations student organization knowen as HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America). HOSA is a scholastic and service organization designed to help prepare students for a future in health care. Students will be involved in community service, competitive eventslinked to curriculum activities in the classroom, fundrasiers, and other school activities. Students will develop valuable communications and leadership skills by their participation. It is important to note that this is a local, state, and nation organization with member dues of $20.00 annualy. For futher information you may consult the national web wite at http://nchosa.org.
