What are STEM Projects?
Students who attend Hanes Magnet School for Science Math and Engineering will have a choice as to the type of project they do. Math projects are an option for eighth-graders. Technology/Engineering projects are an option for students who are taking Project Lead the Way as an elective. The traditional science investigative project is an option for everyone.
What will happen if I choose to do a Science Project?
Your science teacher will guide you through the process of doing your project. Your project must be in one of the following areas and involve investigative science:
- Earth/Environmental Science
- Biological Science (*)
- Chemistry
- Physical Science
*Biological Science A
- Animal Science
- Medicine and Health Science
- Microbiology
*Biological Science B
- Behavioral & Social Sciences
- Biochemistry
- Cellular & Molecular Biology
- Plant Sciences
What will happen if I choose to do a Technology/Engineering project?
Your Project Lead the Way teacher will guide you through the process of doing your project. Your project must be in one of the following areas and must show the design process for an invention.
- Technology & Engineering
- Applied Science
What will happen if I choose to do a Math Project? (open only to eighth graders)
Ms. Vasili will guide you through your project.
