The name STARS stands for Student Technology AdvisoRS.  STARS is a club based on the program first established at Wake Forest University to assist staff and students with the myriad of technology related problems that arise in a school.  STARS Students here at TJMS meet each morning before school from 7:00 to 7:25 and on Wednesday after school.  It is a working technology club,  not a gaming or technology interest club.  In other words,  students in STARS work on projects that help students and teachers at TJMS!

Students work on a variety of jobs including:  Setting up projectors and SMART Boards, installing software, running anti-virus and anti-spyware programs, and helping students in the computer lab.

If you are interested in STARS,  see Mrs. Barfield in the computer lab, room 012 for more information,  or e-mail her at:  sbarfield@wsfcs.k12.nc.us
