Curriculum Night

Meadowlark Middle School will be conducting a curriculum focus night on Thursday, September 16, 2010.  Each student will share a folder with course expectations, requirements, North Carolina Standard Course of Study and some work of their progress so far this year.  We will be working with the students to prepare them for this experience.  We believe it is critical for adolescents to accept responsibility and ownership of their work and performance.  Curriculum focus night gives them this opportunity.
 
Parents and students will begin the night at 6:00 pm and end at 7:30 pm.  Together you and your child will walk their schedule.  You will spend 10 minutes per class beginning with 1st period and ending with 6th period.
 
Walk the Schedule
You will visit your child A day and B day electives during the scheduled time for electives.
8th Grade - 6:00 pm - 6:24 pm electives; 6:28 pm - 6:38 pm 3rd period; 6:42 pm - 6:52 pm 4th period; 6:56 pm - 7:06 pm 5th period; 7:10 pm - 7:20 pm 6th period
7th Grade - 6:00 pm - 6:10 pm 1st period; 6:14 pm - 6:24 pm 2nd period; 6:28 pm - 6:52 pm electives; 6:56 pm - 7:06 pm 5th period; 7:10 pm - 7:20 pm 6th period
6th Grade - 6:00 pm - 6:10 pm 1st period; 6:14 pm - 6:24 pm 2nd period; 6:28 pm - 6:38 pm 3rd period; 6:42 pm - 6:52 pm 4th period; 6:56 pm - 7:20 pm electives
 
Curriculum focus night is an opportunity for you to learn more about your child's education.  It is not a time for individual parent teacher conference.  However, each teacher will provide a sign up sheet for parents wishing to schedule a conference at a later time.
