Welcome to Ms. Hazelwood's Study Skills Page!

I would like to welcome you to the Study Skills page.  I look forward to a wonderful school year! The focus of the Study Skills class this year will be to enhance the skills that the students will learn in their Language Arts class.  This year the students will begin using a computer-based reading program to help increase reading comprehension levels.  By learning new skills along with the enrichment of already acquired skills, students will have a more rewarding educational experience at Main Street Academy.  With the proper strategies, students will be more confident which leads to classroom success and an overall more rewarding educational experience.

Middle School Bell Schedule:

8:20               Check-in Begins

8:55-9:10       Breakfast

9:10-9:50       1st Period/PE/TRP

9:53-10:33     2nd Period/PE/TRP

10:35-11:29   3rd Period

11:30-11:50   "A" Lunch

11:50-12:10   "B" Lunch

12:49-1:43     5th Period

1:45-2:39       6th Period

2:42-3:40       7th Period

3:45               Dismissal

Classroom Procedures:

• Students are expected to come to class prepared and ready to learn.
• Students are expected to respect themselves and others.
• No students should leave the class without permission.
• Students should not move throughout the classroom without permission.
• All students are expected to adhere to computer lab rules.  Failure to do so will result in an alternate assignment.
