What do You Do If You Are Stuck On a Word?

• Look for key words or picture cues.
• Look for little words in big words.
• Say the beginning sound and read the rest of the sentence.
• Look and listen for letter patterns.
• Does it make sense?
• Does it sound right?
• Backtrack and read it again.
• Skip it and go on.
• Use your sounds and tap/sound out the word.
