Exam Exemptions for Seniors

Adopted by WSFCSSchool Board 8/23/2011

1.    Students who arenot seniors are not eligible for exam exemptions

2.    Seniors may beexempted at the point when final grades are being given – either first orsecond semester

3.    Seniors may beexempted from exams in one-unit of credit semester block classes or two-unit ofcredit yearlong block classes or one-unit year-long classes

a.       witha grade of “A” and no more than five (5) absences per class period

b.      witha grade of “B” and no more than three (3) absences per class period

c.       witha grade of “C” and zero (0) absence per class period

4.    Senior may be exemptedfrom exams in half-unit semester classes

a.       witha grade of ‘A” and no more than two( 2) absences per class period

b.      witha grade of “B” and no more than one (1) absence per class period

c.       witha grade of “C” and no more than zero (0) absence per class period

5.    Seniors may beallowed up to three (3) additional absences if the following needs arise:

a.       Deathin the immediate family

b.      Religiousholiday

c.       Collegescholarship interview

          Students must provide a copy of thescholarship interview invitation and proof of attendance, documentation offamily member’s death, or proof of attending required religious services inorder for these absences not to be considered in determining eligibility forexam exemptions. Please note, students may have a maximum of three totalabsences for any or all of these occurrences, not three for each category.
