Alternative Education  

Changing the way we  EDUCATE our Children    

All students can learn and be successful in school.

All students learn differently. 

For those students who are not successful in traditional schools, Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools provides alternatives. Presently, there are three Alternative Schools and fourteen Alternative Programs. 

Alternative Learning Programs and Schools (ALPS) are designed to meet student needs through the utilization of nontraditional Best Practices in Education. 

Alternative Education settings assist students with academic, behavior, and/or mental health issues that impede their success in traditional schools.

Alternative Education is not an Alternative to Education.
