IB Summer Camp - "How to Survive and Thrive in IB" is for rising juniors and seniors enrolled in the IB Diploma Programme at Parkland. This year's camp will be Monday, July 25 - Wednesday, July 27 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Sessions will include Theory of Knowledge, CAS, The Extended Essay, Time Management, Mentor/ Mentee program, and a half day workshop at Wake Forest University. Prep for Success - Parkland's Prep for Success for rising 9th grade students is designed to help students make a seamless transition from middle school to high school. This year's Gateway Academy will be held Monday, August 1 - Thursday, August 4 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Students will be able to sign up this summer through a link on the Parkland App and on the Parkland website. Report Cards & Fees - Report cards will be mailed by Wednesday, June 22. Rising seniors will have a statement attached to their report cards listing any outstanding school fees. All fees must be paid in full before a student is allowed to graduate.
Summer School for all four grades will be offered at Parkland from July 5 - July 28, 2016. Classes will meet Mondays - Thursdays from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. Applications for Summer School are available in the Student Services office. Don't wait to apply - classes are only offered while space is available! Activity buses will provide transportation to and from summer school. Grading Scale & Course Weight Changes - 10-point Grading Scale - Starting with this school year, all NC high school students will be graded on a 10-point scale: A = 90 & above, B = 80-89, C = 70-79, D = 60-69, F = 59 & below.
