SUPPLIES NEEDED AT THE CAREER CENTER

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools has published a list of high school supplies and in that listing directs Career Center students to the Career Center web site for more information. Click here to see the 2012-2013 High School Division Supply List.

Because of the specialized nature of courses at Career Center, one generic supplies list may not suffice. Therefore, we have compiled individual course descriptions to help you understand the courses, their curriculum, and possible supplies needed.

Here are some of the additions added by the Career Center, but please check your individual courses (see below) to determine the specifics for the course and make sure that you get the most updated information:

  • Allied Health Sciences II has a CPR fee of $50 to $90 and there is an option of preparing for and taking the Nurse Aid test (CNA I) for $100.
  • Early Childhood I and II now requires background checks from students for $15 and a smock for work in daycare $25.
  • Advanced Placement Economics students need workbooks at $45.
  • Also, please know that some courses (mostly English and social studies) may suggest that students purchase individual copies of works to read and annotate throughout the year.  Individual titles are available throughout the school year.

Click here to look at Career Center Course Offerings and see what supplies are needed.

If you aren't sure whether your course is Advanced Placement, Career Technical or Other, just look around, and you'll find your course listed.  Once you find your course, open the one-page description and you'll see at the bottom a listing of supplies needed for the course.
