to Mrs. Smith's Social Studies Class
This school year 2012-2013 is the beginning of a new social studies curriculum. Our ancient journey takes us back over 10,000 years to discover humankind began its evolvolution of survival and living. Our ancient journey will travel the globe as we examine great civilizations of the past that have left their amazing mark on our history. You children will witness the history of the Middle East, Africa, India, China, Japan, and Europe. As the children depart 6th grade they will leave history at the time of the Middle Ages. Upon their arrival of 7th grade they will begin in tome at the Renaissance. Therefore, the ancient journey of humankind is a timeline from Stone Age to the Middle Ages in your child's 6th grade year.
