Dear Parents and Students,

I want to welcome you and your child to my classroom this year. I am very excited about this year. I have been teaching for sixteen years, nine of those have been here at KES. My daughter is in the fifth grade here and my son is in the eigth grade at KMS. I am not only a teacher, but a fellow parent.

I have three expectations for my students:

 First, they should complete and return all homework assignments each day. I do understand that certain circumstances can interfere with this every now and then. You may write me a note, write in their planner, or email when/if this should occur and your child will be allowed to make up the assignment without being penalized.

Second, he/she is to follow the school and classroom rules daily. Incentives will be given for “Pawsome” behavior in the class.

Third, each student should come to school every day prepared to learn. Third grade is a challenging year. I know that if we work as a team, we can help your child have a successful third grade year.

I will be going over a homework and behavior contract with the students on the first day of school. This sheet will be sent home for you to view. You and your child will need to sign and return it. This way we are all on the same page as to what is expected of your child in my class.
