We've had a great deal of excitement in the Media Center as our 3-5 graders completed writing their puppet shows.   Our K-2 students are reading the NC Children's Book Award Nominees that they will vote on in March.  Please remember to go over with your children what you define as appropriate reading materials.  many of our students are now venturing into new areas within the library.  Since books are purchased with a wide ranging audience in mind sometimes a student may select a book that is not ideal.  We try to catch them but since many students check out independently this is not always possible.  In addition, each family has different standards of acceptability.  Thanks for always remember to read to your child and read for yourself in front of your child.

Welcome to the Kimmel Farm Elementary School Media Center for the 2012-2013 School Year. My name is Mr. Carmichael and I am the librarian at Kimmel Farm.  Ms. Jameson is my Media Assistant and we both look forward to introducing ourselves to you and sharing in the learning process with you.  There is a brand new list of NC Children's Book Award Nominees this year.  In addition we are going to spend a great deal more time diving into learning with a variety of different methods from technology to puppets.  Hopefully you will be able to connect with some books that will help you strengthen your reading skills and grow a passion for reading.
