Uniform Dress Code Information 2012-2013
 
North Hills Elementary School students are expected to follow a uniform dress code in order to increase focus on learning.  Below you will find the general guidelines for student uniforms.  If you have specific questions about the uniform policy, please contact the school at (336) 661-4940.

*Color choices for apparel were changed beginning in the 2011-2012 school year. The changes to the dress code are highlighted.
 
Students are to wear contrasting colors for tops and bottoms - for example, red or black T-shirts & khaki bottoms, or red/white shirts & black or khaki bottoms.  Students should not wear black shirts with black bottoms.
 
Make-up is not to be worn or brought to school.
Shorts and skirts should be knee length.
All sandals (closed-toe only) must fasten around the ankle or lower leg.
Soft-sole shoes, such as gym shoes, must be worn for Physical Education class.  For safety, students are not allowed to participate barefooted or in sock feet.

The following are not permitted to be worn to school:  t-shirts, tank tops, jeans, jean skirts, jean jumpers, flip-flops, high heels, boots, noisy sandals, long skirts, and lanyards or any other long cords worn around the neck to hold keys.
