Welcome to Ms. Humphrey's First Grade Class
I am thoroughly enjoying teaching this class this year. We are learning
many skills in reading, writing, math, social studies and science. In science we are discovering which habitats make good homes for different types of animals. In social studies we are learning that rules are important at home, at school, and in our communities. In reading we have begun a new reading program called "Imagine-It!" In math we are exploring and practicing putting numbers in order, adding, subtracting, and solving word problems.
More importantly, we are learning to respect each other and to treat others as we would want to be treated. We will be discussing cultures here and around the world and understanding that all people are interesting and special and have similar needs and emotions.
