We are very busy in our "new" media center. We have a new SMART System (interactive board) and we are having fun using it for many activites in the library, as well as classes. We have been scheduling class research time on the new computer "hub" with 10 computers. This year we are also working to maximize our "Open Checkout" time and make the library more accessible, with flexible library times and more class checkout times. We have organized the books in the collection to make everything easy to find, and have added direction signs to help find our way around our new library. The library is open Monday through Friday from 7:55 am until the end of the school day. Please let me know if you would like to recommend a particular book or author for our collection.
All schools in the county are on the Destiny computerized library system. This enables all schools in our county system to share information with each other, and it also has some great search capabilities. Best of all, the database is available online from any location with an internet connection, which enables our students to find, not only the books in the media center, but also all those great Destiny WebPath Express website sources from home, too.
We are now using the new online version of Accelerated Reader! This gives us access to lots more AR quizzes. If you want to see the list of titles now available, you can click here on the
