My name is JoEllen Weeks, and this is my first year as media coordinator at Whitaker.  I came to Winston-Salem from Scotland County, where I was a media coordinator for ten years.  I enjoy children, reading, technology, and spending time with family and friends.  My favorite authors are Gary Paulsen, Christopher Paul Curtis, Richard Peck, and Mildred D. Taylor. 
   The media center supports students and teachers with the Common Core and NC Essential Standards.  Classroom instruction is reinforced through research skills, technology, and developing a love of reading.  Please come visit the media center.
