BPL Thank you for visiting my Teacher Page.  Let me tell you a little bit about myself.  I have been an art educator for 29 years with the WSFC Schools.  I have taught at West Forsyth HS for the past 11 years.  I accomplished National Board Certification in 1998 and my NBCT renewal- October '08.  I attended the Maryland Institute, College of Art, BFA;  University of the Arts/ Philadelphia, MA; I also have taken classes towards varied certifications and for enrichment at UNCG, A& T State University/ Supervision & Administration, Wake Forest University/ American Foundations, New York University/ Study Art Program in Venice, Salem College/ Mentor Teacher.

In anticipation of retiring with 30 years of teaching in the WSFCS, at the end of the next school year, I am 'walking the talk' as a lifelong learner and preparing myself in soon becoming a fulltime professional artist.  Currently I am an MFA Candidate of the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University and will graduate in June 2012.  You can see my MFA Blog, to view my work completed for this program (see link below).

Prior to teaching at West, I served the WSFCS as their Lead Art Teacher for 11 years.  I have served the Board of the NC Art Education Association in varied roles including the office of President, 1995-97.  I sponsor the West Forsyth school chapter of the National Art Honor Society, and received the NAEA NAHS Sponsor of the Year award in 2007.  I am a practicing artist, creating primarily in the medium of stained glass and have completed numerous installations.  I teach stained glass to adults at FTCC/ West Campus, one evening a week.
