Spring Recruitment Period
February 15-March 15, 2013

To apply complete the following steps by 4:00 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2013:

Step one
Print and complete the WS/FCS Pre-Kindergarten Interest Form.

WS/FCS Pre-Kindergarten Interest Form-Spanish

You may also request a copy of the Interest Form from one of the following schools: Caleb's Creek, Cash, Cook, Diggs/Latham, Easton, Forest Park, Gibson, Griffith, Hall-Woodward, Ibraham, Kernersville, Kimberley Park, Kimmel Farm, Konnoak, Middle Fork, North Hills, Old Town, Petree, Sedge Garden, South Fork, Speas, Walkertown, or Ward.

Step two

Note: Please do not return your application to Smart Start during the application period. Return the completed application to a listed school only.
Prepare documents requested by Winston-Salem/Forsyth Schools.
copy of child's certified birth certificate
proof of address-utility statement or lease document
If you do not have any of the above for proof of address, please contact the Student Assignment office at 748-3302 for further assistance.
Step three
Prepare the financial documents required for NC Pre-K eligibility determination described in the Smart Start Pre-Kindergarten application.

Step four
Print and complete the Smart Start of Forsyth County Pre-Kindergarten application. You may get the application at the Smart Start website at http://tinyurl.com/SmartStartPre-KApp.

You may also request a copy of the Smart Start of Forsyth County Pre-Kindergarten application from one of the following schools: Caleb's Creek, Cash, Cook, Diggs/Latham, Easton, Forest Park, Gibson, Griffith, Hall-Woodward, Ibraham, Kernersville, Kimberley Park, Kimmel Farm, Konnoak, Middle Fork, North Hills, Old Town, Petree, Sedge Garden, South Fork, Speas, Walkertown, or Ward.
Step five
Return the completed application to one of the elementary schools listed by 4:00 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2013.

What happens next?
Smart Start of Forsyth County will contact you by mid-April to schedule a developmental assessment appointment for your child. During the appointment, you will have an opportunity to have your questions answered about public pre-Kindergarten in Forsyth County.
