Ms. Sara Stoeppelwerth

I have lived in North Carolina since I was 5, so yeah, essentially my whole life.  I grew up in Winston-Salem attending Brunson, Wiley, Anderson, and Parkland, where I graduated in 1986.  After high school I headed east to East Carolina University.  I really loved college life and didn't want to graduate, but alas, the money ran out.  Afterwards, I worked in a variety of different fields...too many to mention.  But the one thing that I loved about all my jobs was when I was in a position of teaching, whether training employees or educating customers.  One of the highlights of my career was when I owned my own business, Gymboree Play and Music.  I loved watching those little minds grow as we played and learned concepts and ideas.

It was this experience and more that brought me to graduate school to pursue my teaching license.  I began attending Salem College in Fall of 2008 and learned a lot of great things, but my student teaching is what led me to my love for Special Education.  I really enjoy feeling like I am making a difference helping unique learners find their individual learning styles.
