Did you know that Walkertown Elementary School will pay your child to read?
Here's how...Announcing Reading Buck$ for reading books. Each grade level has their own unique book review form for students to fill out after they read a book. Upon successful completion of the book review form, students will recieve 1 Book Buck for a book that has 1-49 pages. The older students may challenge themselve to earn even more. A book with 50-99 pages will earn them 2 Book Buck$ and a book with 100 or more pages will earn them 3 Book Buck$ when they successfully complete the book review form. The book review forms are available in the media center at all times. You may also print off the appropriate book review form for your child's grade level below. Your child can also complete a book review form on a book that they have read for PAWS for Reading. Any book can be chosen for the Reading Buck$ program. The book does not have to come from the school media center. There is NO limit to how many book buck$ your child can earn, because reading PAY$.
So what can your child do with Book Buck$?
Every other week, the Reading Buck$ store is open in the media center. The only currency the store accepts are official WES Book Buck$. The merchandise in the store starts at 1 buck and increases based on the value of the item. Some items in the store are toys, games, bracelets, stickers, pencils, tattoos, erasers, note pads, special limited edition seasonal items and much more.
Participation in the Reading Buck$ program is FREE and open to all WES students.
