French 3 Honors is most appropriate for students who earned an A or B in French 2. In French 3, students will hone their listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills toward an intermediate-low or intermediate-mid level of proficiency. Students will continue to learn about French and Francophone cultures in the context of thematic units. Because French 3 is an honors-level course, students will be responsible for more vocabulary and grammatical structures and will be expected to do more independently to develop their own skills. These skills are emphasized through authentic reading and listening selections, partner and group work, games, and proficiency-oriented projects. Motivated French 3 students can continue on to French 4 or AP French.
