World History - Standard
This course explores everything from prehistory to current events. Our studies will include historical events, culture, geography, government, and economics. Within that framework, we will develop skills that are useful in academia and other jobs. Points of emphasis for skill building are literacy, critical thinking, and creativity. Inquiry-based projects will be a focus of this class. Students will be using conceptual lenses in researching and examining content. As an example, this will include looking at Ancient Rome through the lens of perspective, which will show how both Romans and the conquered viewed this time in history. Students will be completing document-based essays using primary sources, which will help each student with the depth and understanding of the material.
