    The Parkland High School Hall of Fame is seeking Nominees for the Class of 2022

    The Parkland High School Hall of Fame (HOF) is now accepting nominations for the 2022 class.  Nominations are for athletes, individual athletics, and for athletic distinguished service, contributions and dedication to the Parkland High School Athletic program, by bringing pride and distinction to the school and community.  Eligible athletes must have graduated at least five (5) years prior to a nomination.  Nomination forms are available from the school office of the Athletic Director, or by continuing below on this page.

    PARKLAND HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS HALL OF FAME NOMINATION FORM

     
    PURPOSE: The Parkland High School Sports Hall of Fame seeks to maintain the legacy of the successful athletic programs at Parkland High School. The Parkland Sports Hall of Fame recognizes and honors the athletes, coaches, and individuals who have made significant contributions to Parkland athletic programs.  This program is designed to honor those persons and former athletes, male and female, who, by the excellence of their participation in, or association with Parkland High School Athletics, have brought outstanding recognition and esteem to themselves and to Parkland High School.  
     
    OBJECTIVES: The purpose of the organization is to bring proper recognition to noteworthy athletes, coaches and others for their accomplishments and contributions to the Parkland High School athletic programs.  
     
    1. Parkland High School Sports Hall of Fame shall conduct an induction ceremony to present awards to those duly elected to the Athletic Hall of Fame.  
     
    2.   To honor each inductee, the Parkland High School Athletic Hall of Fame shall present a permanent plaque that shall be displayed in a prominent location at Parkland High School.  
     
    CRITERIA AND PROCEDURES FOR THE ELECTION OF CANDIDATES TO PARKLAND HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS HALL OF FAME
     
    Categories of Eligible Candidates: 1. Players   2. Coaches  3. Contributors    
     
     I.  Nominators Eligibility - All Candidates Must Be Nominated.
    A. All nominees in all categories are required to submit a sports resume along with the completed nomination form.  
    B. Being mindful of our mission statement that all inductees into the Parkland High School Sports Hall of  Fame be of good moral and ethical character, The Parkland High School Sports Hall of Fame Committee ask that each application for the Hall of Fame be accompanied by a recent criminal background report of the applicant. This report will be regarded with the utmost degree of confidentiality.   
    C. May be placed on a ballot for a period of no more than five (5) years. If he/she is not elected to the Hall of Fame during this period, name(s) will be taken off of the ballot.   
    D. Must wait for a period of three (3) years before he/she is eligible for re-nomination.
     
     
    II. Criteria for Players 
    A. Must have graduated high school at least (5) years prior to nomination.  
    B. Must have participated and lettered in at least (1) Varsity Sport.  
    C. Must have received other athletic honors; namely, All City County, All Conference, and/or All State, East-West All-stars, Shrine Bowl, All American or special honors awarded by Parkland High school.  
    D. Must have been of outstanding character and held in high esteem by his/her peers.  
    E. Must receive votes on at least sixty (60) percent of the ballots returned.    
    NOTE: Candidates shall be chosen on the basis of playing ability, integrity, sportsmanship and their contributions to the team or teams in which they played.
     
     
    III. Criteria for Coaches 
    A. The honorees shall be coaches who, by the excellence of  their coaching of an athletic team(s), have brought substantial recognition and esteem to themselves and to Parkland High School.    
    1. Must have served as head coach of a varsity sport for a minimum of five (5) years.    
    2. Must have won at least two of the following championships; conference, sectional/district, regional, or state.    
    3. Must have won at least 65 percent of the games during  his/her coaching tenure.    
    4. Must have made outstanding contributions to the school.    
    5. A coach must not currently be serving in that capacity at Parkland High School.
     

    IV. Criteria for Contributor Nominees.  
    A. Athletic Directors   
    1. Must have served as athletic director of Parkland High School for a minimum of five (5) years.    
    2. Must not currently be serving as athletic director.   
    3. Must have made significant contributions to Parkland High Schools.   
    4. Must have had an athletic program that complemented the academic program of the institution.   
    5. Must have managed an athletic program where superior financial responsibility was demonstrated.   
    6. Must have managed a program where team sports  (male and female) superseded dual and single games.   
    7. Must have established a history of actively cooperating with the athletes' families and community institutions.
     
    B. Principals, Assistant Principals  
    1. Must have served in that capacity a minimum of five (5) years.   
    2. Must not currently be serving in that capacity.   
    3. Must have made outstanding contributions to Parkland High Schools and to the athletic programs.
     

    C. Supporters-Cheerleaders. Drill Team Members, Contributors.   
    1. Must have actively supported high school athletics for a minimum of five (5) years.  
    2. Must have contributed significantly to the development of student athletes and to the athletic program at Parkland High School. 
    NOTE: Contributors must have made significant contributions which have benefitted Parkland High School.
