• Malinda Kerns, Assistant Principal

Hello all! My name is Malinda Kerns, and I am elated to be returning to Kernersville Elementary School as your assistant principal! I previously served at Kernersville Elementary in 2015-2016 as the second assistant principal. I have also served as the assistant principal at Kimmel Farm Elementary School and most recently at Cook Literacy Model School. I have been an educator for over 20 years, with much of my time spent in Winston-Salem Forsyth County as a teacher and school leader. I consider Kernersville Elementary to be my home (“once a Wildcat...”) and I am honored to be back in such a supportive and nurturing school community.

In my “free time,” I love spending time with family, reading and learning new things. I have one son, Jaden, who is a senior in high school this year. I enjoy watching him play sports and hounding him about homework.

I look forward to being here at Kernersville for many years to come and to meeting with our students, their families, and the community.
