Understanding the FAFSA Process
After paying for college, completing The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is probably the most important step a student and parent can take to make sure they are prepared to pay for college. Through the FAFSA students can become eligible for grants, often it is used in the deciding process for some scholarships, and it is the application used for some of the lowest interest rate loans. Below you will find links and videos on how to complete the FAFSA, obtain your FSA ID, and hopefully documents that will answer many of your questions about the FAFSA.
Students AND parents will need to create FSA IDs prior to being able to complete the FAFSA. Please click on FSA ID to create yours or you click or copy and paste: https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa/filling-out/fsaidTo log on and start your student's FAFSA, or to learn more information about Federal Student Aid, please click on FAFSA or visit https://fafsa.gov/Click on this link for the Financial Aid PowerPoint, presented at our Tabor Forum Series by Tom Benza, Associate Director of Financial Aid at Wake Forest University - PowerPoint
