• Occupational Course of Study

The Occupational Course of Study (OCS) provides a curriculum to encourage its graduates to be independent in residential, community, and employment settings. The focus is on basic academic skills, career and technical education courses, and hands-on learning. The Practical Assessment Exploration System (PAES) program is also utilized to provide hands on vocational training within the classroom setting. There are four specific areas to this program which include: home/consumer science, industrial/technology, manipulatory processing & production, and business/marketing so that students will be prepared to transition into work experiences in the community.

In order to graduate, students must complete 600 hours of pre-vocational, vocational training as well as competitive employment (150 are on campus, 225 are community-based vocational training (CBVT) provided by the school, and 225 hours are paid CBVT; which can be acquired by the student or the school).
