• About Me
I am excited to join the Atkins team this fall. Atkins is my first love in that I trained here at Atkins while obtaining my Masters in Education and Science three years ago. I taught 7th grade Science at Wiley Magnet Middle school for the past 2 years and I am very excited to come back to Atkins to teach Chemistry and Biology. My background is unique in that I have not always been a teacher. I worked as a Chemical Engineer for more than 10 years and I operated a non-profit program for children; infants to 12 years of age, for another three. Though I have not always held the title of teacher, I have always been an educator. As a wife and mother of two boys, I naturally love kids at all ages and stages of development. I have taught non-professionally as a bible school teacher for both children and adults. Even as an engineer, I always viewed my role as an educator in that I supplied the information needed for individuals to make wise business decisions. I absolutely love science and have found much success in my roles. It is for this reason that I teach. My personal goal for your student is that they develop the aptitude to question and to search out solutions for the questions they identify. Never stop asking why!
