I received my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro as well as a Masters in School Administration for North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. I am currently working on my 13th year in education, with 8 years in the classroom and 5 years as a Curriculum Coordinator. I taught two years in Fredericksburg, Virginia as a ninth grade alternative education teacher prior to moving back to North Carolina. In North Carolina, I taught all Social Studies courses for 3 years at the Alternative School formerly known as Griffith Academy. For 3 years at Ben L. Smith High School, I taught a Sheltered World History Class as well as Honors World History in the ninth grade academy. For the first 4 years as the Curriculum Coordinator, I was also the Testing Coordinator. I truly enjoy my experience working here at Atkins Academic and Technology High School mentoring students as well as teachers. My official job title is now Instructional Facilitator.
