WSFCS, NCPTA and National PTA Advocacy
The WSFCS maintains a helpful advocacy webpage here.
The NCPTA has a very active advoacy program on behalf of North Carolina's children and employs a full time lobbyist, Ashley Perkinson, who represents the NCPTA at the North Carolina Legislative Building when the North Carolina General Assembly (NCGA) is convening. You can learn more about NCPTA's advocacy priorities, read tips for contacting public officials and writing your legislators, and sign up for NCPTA advocacy and legislative updates here.
The National PTA also maintains a very active advocacy program on behalf of all of the children in our nation. You can learn more about the National PTA's efforts on the National PTA website here. The National PTA hosts an annual Legislative Conference in Alexandria, VA. This year's conference will be held March 7-9. If you are interested in representing the JES PTA at the conference, please contact Amy Shuman or Christy Robinson.
