This is my fifth year as Media Coordinator at Kimberley Park, and I have been in the WSFCS system for over 10 years.  I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism from UNC Chapel Hill, and a Masters Degree in Library and Information Studies  from Appalachian State University.  I have been happily married for 29 years and have the most incredible young adult daughter and son!  When I have spare time, I enjoy cooking and shopping, but most importantly, spending quality time with my husband and children.  I love being a Media Coordinator because it gives me limitless opportunities to instill a real love of reading and learning in my students at a young age.  I enjoy seeing students get excited about the books they love to read, and about books and digital resources on topics in which they can explore new interests! My goals are: to make reading and learning fun and enjoyable for students so that they do not see either one as a chore; and to teach my students the mindset of Inquiry Based Learning where they don't just learn about a topic through looking up information and writing a report, but they learn through meaningful experiences that they create with my guidance. As the late Benjamin Franklin said, "Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”
