School tours are available by appointment ONLY. Please call our office at 336-703-4135 if you would like to schedule a tour. Find out your residential school and zone by looking it up on the School Locator or call the Student Assignment office at 336-748-3302.If Speas Global is NOT your residential school, you need to apply to Speas Global through the Magnet Application process, which happens in Dec.-Jan. for rising 1st-5th grades and in March-April for rising Kindergarteners. For non-residential families with rising Kindergartners, even if you have another child who attends Speas, you should complete the Magnet Application. The Magnet Application for siblings is the district's process to ensure siblings at Magnet Schools are placed with preference. Please see the enrollment choice timelines and directions from the Student Assignment department. After the Magnet Application deadline, you may call the Student Assignment office, 336-748-3302, to inquire about getting on the wait list.Kindergarten - If your child was accepted by the Magnet Application process or is residential:Children who will be 5 years old on or before August 31, may enroll in Kindergarten. Families should complete the online registration and upload the needed forms. Our Data Manager will get a notification when you do this and she will contact you if more information is needed. Health Assessment Form HereSpeas Global DOES NOT have a Kindergarten Screening before school begins in the fall. Some elementary schools do continue this optional practice, but at Speas Global we do not. We understand that children can grow and mature greatly in the few months before Kindergarten and do not wish to over assess our children with something extra that is not required by our county or state. In August and during the first 60 days of school, the development of each child will be captured to inform instruction and planning using the North Carolina Early Learning Inventory (NC ELI), which is a requirement from the state of North Carolina along with other required assessments. You can read about these assessments on our website here.*Kindergarten Health Assessment forms and other information from NCDHHS.Grades 1st-5th - If your child was accepted by the Magnet Application process:If your child already attends a school in WSFCS, you need to call our office 336-703-4135 and leave a message to accept your magnet seat.
