"Carryout 4 Cougars"

    A Supplemental Food Program

    Frequently Asked Questions:

What is "Carryout 4 Cougars"?  "Carryout 4 Cougars" is a supplemental food program that will send nutritious foods home with children who are at-risk of going hungry on the weekends.

Does Cash really need this program?  Yes!  We have children right here in our community going without food on the weekends.  Studies show that children who receive adequate nutrition on a regular basis perform better in school and are less likely to have behavior problems.

Will everyone know which children receive the food?  No, the identity of the children in the program is strictly confidential.  The child's teacher and guidance counselor are the only two that will know who participates in the program.

What will the child receive?  Each child in the program will receive two breakfasts, two lunches and two snacks each Friday of the school year.  Food is sent home in bags that can be placed in the child’s book bag.  The foods are easily opened by children and do not need oven or microwave preparation.  The menu will vary throughout the year.

How can my child be added to the program?  If your child is not getting enough to eat on the weekends at home, please contact our school counselor.
