A Note from LES PTA President:
Welcome back LES students and parents! And welcome to our new families and students!
I am Amy Foster, your PTA president for the 2020-2021 school year. I have a 4th grader this year at LES, and we are looking forward to making this unusual time the best we can!
Just because we are starting the year in a virtual mode for learning does not mean that the PTA has not and will not be hard at work! What does the PTA even do, you wonder? Well, we are a group of parents who advocate for all children in our school. A few things we are doing this year are providing at home instructional materials for our students to participate and use during virtual learning specials like science and art, increasing access for our students to virtual learning materials such as e-books and other interactive software, and helping our teachers provide our students with at home learning packets.
Some of the goals of the PTA are to promote the wellbeing of all children, bring together parents and teachers to cooperate on educational goals and develop united efforts between educators and the general public or order to secure for all children the highest advantages in physical, mental, and social development! Now with the uncertainties in our world and what this school year will bring, we are at the most crucial time for our children for us to all be involved.
This year our PTA will look different, and our focus will be in different areas; and especially how we can ensure that virtual learning can be most successful for all of our students.
We will be hosting our monthly meetings online so hopefully that will afford the opportunity for more parents to join in and be involved, especially our working parents. We have lots of opportunities for parents to meet your schedules and desired level of involvement and commitment!
Joining the PTA is only $8.00 and can be done through memberhub.
Thank you for everything you do for our students, and we hope to see you soon!
Amy Foster, President LES PTA 2020-2021
