Early College of Forsyth (ECF) is a partnership between WSFCS and Forsyth Technical Community College. ECF students are placed on a track to graduate in four years with both a high school diploma and an Associate's Degree from Forsyth Tech. Students enrolled in ECF do not have to pay tuition or any textbook fees to Forsyth Tech while enrolled in our program.
- Early College of Forsyth only accepts rising 9th grade students.
- All applicants must reside in Forsyth County.
- The application period for ECF for current 8th grade students is November 19, 2022 - January 13, 2023.

- Two references are required as part of the application process. One must be completed by a current core teacher (math, English, science, or social studies) and one completed by a current Guidance/Student Services Counselor. The reference form can be downloaded by clicking the link below. Students are encouraged to reach out to teachers and counselors now to provide ample time for the reference forms to be completed. All completed reference forms should be emailed to tmshore2@wsfcs.k12.nc.us. The forms can be emailed directly by the teacher or counselor.
- A copy of a student's middle school grades, attendance, discipline, and EOG scores (if applicable) must also be submitted as part of the application process. This information can be obtained from a student's current counselor. These documents can be emailed to tmshore2@wsfcs.k12.nc.us.
- The ECF staff will review applications upon receiving them. Students passing the initial application screening process will be contacted to schedule an in-person student interview during the week of January 17-20, 2023. The interview will be with current ECF faculty and students.
- Final decision letters regarding acceptance will be mailed to students by Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
- Students considering attending another magnet school in the district are encouraged to apply to ECF and the other magnet school simultaneously. Waiting until you receive your ECF decision will not allow you time to meet the application deadline for other magnet schools in the district.
- We will be having an Open House/Informational Presentation for prospective students/parents on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 4:00-6:00 PM in Ardmore Hall Auditorium on the Main Campus of Forsyth Tech. You do NOT have to register for this event.
- Please contact the school at 336-757-3290 or email tmshore2@wsfcs.k12.nc.us if you have questions.
