  • What will I learn?

    Reading & Language Arts

We will identify the structure of a story by describing the beginning, middle and end. We will answer who, what, where, why, when, how questions using details from the text to support response. We will determine the central message, lesson, or moral of a story as well as determine the author’s purpose for writing the text.

    Mathematics

We will fluently add and subtract to 20.  We will add and subtract larger numbers (up to 1,000) using base ten blocks, open number lines or place value strategies. We will solve story problems. We tell time (5 minute intervals) & count coins/dollars, solving money problems.

    Science/Social Studies

We will explore life cycles, study the weather, learn about matter and investigate sound. We will learn about citizenship, history, geography and economics.
