Dr. Alysha Taxter, MD, MSCE is a pediatric sports medicine physician and pediatric rheumatologist at Wake Forest University. She is an Ohio native. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology from The Ohio State University and her medical degree from Wright State University, Ohio. She then completed pediatric residency at the University of Minnesota, Minnesota, a pediatric sports medicine fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Ohio, and a pediatric rheumatology fellowship at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She obtained a Masters in Science in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania. She joined Wake Forest Baptist Brenner Children’s Hospital, Winston-Salem North Carolina, as an Assistant Professor in 2015, where she is a pediatric rheumatologist and sports medicine physician. Her research interests include pediatric biomechanics, physical function of children with rheumatic conditions, and clinical bioinformatics. Dr. Taxter has been the Bobcat's Team Physician since 2015.
