    VICE PRESIDENT ROLE

    Summary: Serve as primary aide to the President. Perform the duties of the President in the absence or disability of that officer to act. Perform such other duties as may be prescribed in the Bylaws and standing rules, or assigned by the association. Shall be a member ex officio of all committees.
    Time Commitment: Meetings; Meeting Prep; Event/Activity Planning & Attendance (approx. 6 hours per month).
    Duration: 1 year term; year-round commitment.
    Important Dates: PTSA meetings - Every second Monday of the month from August through May of the current school year from 6:00 p.m. to approximately 7:00 p.m. Additional meetings, events, and activities deemed appropriate by the association.
    Accountable To: PTSA President
    TIMELINE
    Ongoing: Attend meetings as requested by the president. Become familiar with the duties of each chair, and help facilitate smooth transitions with incoming officers and committee chairs.
    July:

    Attend workshops offered by council or district PTA and urge incoming board members to attend.

    Review all material received from previous Vice President and familiarize yourself with the Bylaws.

    August:

    Facilitate Orientation and Open House preparations.

    Attend Staff Breakfast-tasks=serve staff, clean up.

    Attend Orientation and Open House.

    September: Attend first General PTSA meeting.
    December: Attend second General PTSA meeting.
    May: Attend third General PTSA meeting.
    June: Attend Transition Meeting.
