What will you learn?
1st quarter: We will study the structures and functions of living things including cells and the human body.
2nd quarter: We will study genetics including cellular reproduction and patterns of inheritance.
3rd quarter: We will study forces/motion and energy transfer and conservation,
4th quarter: We will study the Earth’s atmosphere/water and weather and climate.
Class Expectations
I expect you to always be ready to learn, listen, and participate. You will need a pencil and your binder with notebook paper each day. If you are absent it is your responsibility to locate and complete missing assignments and notes. Students are expected to review their daily notes/assignments nightly along with any other incomplete or homework assignment. Quizzes will be on Fridays. Late work will not be accepted after 3 school days after due date. Each day an assignment is late your grade will drop one letter grade plus any incorrect answers.
Supplies for my Class
1.5”- three ringed binder with loose leaf paper (college ruled)
Number 2 pencils
*Personal set of ear buds to be kept in class
Colored pencils
Glue sticks
Dry erase marker
Pack of highlighters
Wish list: Kleenex and hand sanitizer, pack of index cards
Rules and Consequences
I will always treat you with respect and kindness and also I expect students to maintain self control and respect at all times. I will review procedures in class.
1st offense = verbal reminder
2nd offense = teacher conference and silent lunch/time out and parent contact)
3rd offense = parent contact: either a phone call or meeting and discipline referral that will result in administrative action
Grading Policy
Classroom warm ups and activities = 25%
In class assignments and quizzes = 25%
Homework Participation = 25%
Unit Test = 25%
Grading Scale: A = 90-100
B = 80-89
C = 70-79
D = 60-69
F = Below 59
