    Mr. Jonathan Sidden

I am extremely excited to be a member of the Thomas Jefferson Middle School community!

I am a proud product of Winston Salem/Forsyth County Schools. Staying close to home for Undergraduate School, I trained as a musician at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, before moving to Philadelphia to be a Resident Artist at the Academy of Vocal Arts. After my time in Philly, I moved back to Winston Salem and began teaching at North Forsyth High.  In 2006, I moved to Parkland Magnet to teach at the school that raised me! While at Parkland, I completed my IB Diploma Programme Certification at the United Nations International School in New York City. In 2010, I spent an incredible summer in Vienna, Austria as a National Endowment of Humanities Scholar. I received my Master of Arts degree in Executive Leadership Studies from Gardner-Webb University earning my NC Principal’s License. In 2014, I became an Assistant Principal at Davie High School, helping facilitate the design and transition to the new, state-of-the-art school. Walkertown High School became my home in 2017. Now I am joining the great TJMS Community!

In addition to serving students, parents, and teachers, I am Director of Music at Clemmons Moravian Church, serving as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Moravian Music Foundation. What extra time I have is quite selfishly taken up by my 1-year-old Double Doodle (goldendoodle/labradoodle), Poppy (as in the flower), who is a 65-pound bundle of hyperactivity!

I look forward to our journey together!
