Spartan Strong: Feeding the Heart, the Mind, and the Body

We have always called ourselves a family, knowing we would be there for each other in any time of need. It is one reason why people are drawn to Mt. Tabor, why teachers stay for decades, why parent volunteers put in countless hours. Right now, we are all in a time of need at differing levels, but some members of our family need extra help to take care of their families. Below are ways that we can help or that you can ask for help if yo uare one of those families.

#Spartan Strong is more than a slogan; it is who we are, and our actions will prove it!

     FREE EVENING MEALS

    Free Meals at the YMCA

The YMCAs across the country along with other nonprofits and organizations have come together during this global pandemic to address a number of community concerns during these uncertain times.

We are thrilled to say the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina is doing the same. We are working with community partners for food distribution in response to community needs during the continued spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

In partnership with Love Out Loud, the Ministers Conference of Winston-Salem, Second Harvest Food Bank of NWNC, and others, the Winston Lake Family YMCA will serve as a food distribution site, starting Monday, March 23. Anyone from the community who needs assistance getting food can stop by the Winston Lake Family YMCA, 901 Waterworks Road, from 2:00-3:00pm Monday through Friday.

No paperwork or ID is needed to pick up meals.

We are looking for volunteers to assist with food distribution. If you are interested or would like to learn more, please visit this link

Thank you all for your continued support of the YMCA, and by extension our community.
