I am happy to serve as an assistant principal, under the leadership of Stephanie Gentry at Southeast Middle School (SEMS). I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a Master of Educational Leadership degree from High Point University in High Point, North Carolina. Specifically, I attended the prestigious High Point University Leadership Academy that has trained me to be a transformational leader that practices equity, access and inclusion for all stakeholders.

I am a seasoned educator with a successful twenty-five year track record of teaching, mentoring and motivating students as well as adults by creating a culture of harmony and collaboration. My nurturing demeanor and wisdom earned through the years enables me to navigate new waters as I strive to uphold the vision and mission of SEMS in light of the School Improvement Plan and District Goals.

I am proud to work for the Winston Salem Forsyth School district and most recently completed a full-time internship at North Forsyth High School in Winston Salem, NC. Prior to that, I taught English Language Arts at East Forsyth Middle School in Kernersville, NC for five years. I have also worked in the Guilford County School system as well as several private schools in the Piedmont Triad.

I love my family dearly and I am the proud mother of four children. I also have one granddaughter that calls me “MiMi”. My husband and I have been married for twenty-five years.
