• About Me

My name is Amanda Malatlian, and I've been teaching math since 1996.  I have taught math in public, private, and charter schools in Florida and North Carolina at both the middle and high school levels.  I have also taught students virtually (pre-COVID), not only in North Carolina, but also in the states of Texas, Louisiana, Illinois, and Tennessee.  Over the years I have pretty much taught everything from basic math through calculus.  Each summer, I also grade AP Statistics exams for the College Board which is an intense but uniquely “fun” opportunity for professional development and an opportunity to hang out with like-minded nerds.

On a personal note, I am married and have two boys.  One is a freshman in college and the other is a high school junior.  I also own a wonderful, sometimes crazy, golden retriever.  I’m excited to be teaching at Atkins this year, and I look forward to helping my students foster a growth mindset to aid them in navigating the world of math and become better critical thinkers.
