    Seniors - do you need one-on-one assistance with the 2024-2025 FAFSA?  Do you want to learn about scholarship opportunities through the Shallow Ford Foundation?  Student Services will be hosting a FAFSA Friday event on March 22 from 12:00 - 2:00 in the Media Center. Financial Aid Office Representatives from Wake Forest University will be on site to assist families with their FAFSA submission or to answer questions about the FAFSA form AND you will hear from a representative from the Shallow Ford Foundation about scholarship opportunities for West Forsyth students.  Register here or reach out to Mrs. Hubbard (ahubbard@wsfcs.k12.nc.us) for more information.

    WSFCS is sponsoring several FREE FAFSA events around the Winston-Salem community for families who need individual assistance.  Plan to attend one of these sessions to ensure all of your questions are answered.


    The State of North Carolina is sponsoring FAFSA Day on January 27 from 9:00 to 12:00 at various locations across the state.  Families can receive one-on-one assistance completing the 2024-2025 FAFSA form by registering here

     


    In order to be eligible for federal student aid (loans, grants, and some scholarships), students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

     

    Residency Determination Service (RDS)

    Residency Determination Service (RDS)  is the process used to determine if students qualify for in-state tuition

    What to Know about RDS Video

    It is suggested that students do the following -

    1. Complete RDS

    2. Submit College Admissions Applications

    3. Complete FAFSA


    FSAID

    Students must create an FSA ID How to Create a FSA ID video in order to "sign" their FAFSA applications.  Students are encouraged to create their FSAID toward the beginning of their senior year (one FSAID for the student and at least one parent).  Visit the FSAID webpage to complete this process.

    • The FSAID is a username and password used to access the application platform and submit the FAFSA


    FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

    CFNC is a great resource for FAFSA assistance. 

    Visit the FAFSA website to complete the 2024-25 application as early as December 2023
