NOTICE FOR PREQUALIFICATION DEADLINE: Gilbane Building Company, serving as Construction Manager for Winston Salem Forsyth County Public School System is seeking to prequalify principal and specialty trade contractors to provide labor, materials, and equipment for the BRUNSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL project. The project schedule has not been finalized but bidding is projected to take place during the 4th Quarter 2023 with construction commencing in 1st Quarter 2024. Advertisement: Invitation to Pre-Qualify to Bid John F Kennedy HS Renovation

INVITATION TO PRE-QUALIFY TO BID
Single Prime Contractors interested in submitting construction bids on the John F. Kennedy High School Renovations project in Winston-Salem, NC, are invited to pre-qualify. The prequalification procedure will generally follow the guidelines established by the North Carolina State Construction Office. Only those contractors who pre-qualify are eligible to submit a bid for this project. Contractors may obtain a Pre-Qualify to Bid Package from Donna Beck, Senior Project Manager, by emailing her at dgbeck@wsfcs.k12.nc.us.
Requests for the Pre-Qualify Bid Package must be received prior to 4:00pm on July 15, 2021. Contractors are required to return the package by email, and title the email as: John F. Kennedy High School Prequalification Package. Packages must be received no later than 2:00pm on July 16, 2021. *Submissions received after this deadline will not be considered.
Prequalification information obtained in this request will be used for the JF Kennedy HS Renovation project only.
John F. Kennedy High School is located at 890 E Eleventh Street, Winston-Salem, NC. The project consists of a renovation of the existing school, which is approximately 105,000 square feet. The renovation includes substantial select demolition, refinishing existing terrazzo corridor floors, door and window replacements with new doors and aluminum storefront system; new VCT floors, abuse resistance GWB walls; painted and acoustical panel ceiling finishes; new HVAC systems, new makeup air conditioning system; new lighting; and a renovated gym (new wood floor system) and auditorium with renovated seating; new quarry tile floors and lockers in the redesigned locker rooms. The existing building roof is to be replaced with a new TPO roof system. There is approximately 5,000 square feet of new addition, consisting of an aluminum curtainwall system, brick veneer with concrete structure, and epoxy terrazzo floor. A new canopy will be installed at the student drop-off area. The parking lot will also be reconfigured.
