Advertisement for Architect Services Qualifications

Winston Salem / Forsyth County Schools (WS/FCS) is requesting qualification proposals from Architects
interested in submitting for five (5) upcoming projects. The projects include:

1. New Ashley Elementary School
2. Addition at Griffith Elementary School
3. Addition at Ward Elementary School
4. Renovation/Replacement at East Forsyth High School
5. New Middle School in Smith Farm area

It is anticipated that design work for each project will begin within the next 6-9 months.

The Request For Qualifications (RFQ) can be obtained on the WS/FCS website. The address is
http://wsfcs.k12.nc.us/bond and will be available by noon on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.

Additionally, the RFQ can be obtained by requesting from WS/FCS.

REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools (WS/FCS) is requesting qualifications from Architectural firms interested in providing design services for five (5) upcoming projects in Forsyth County, NC. The selected firm will be providing complete design services including civil, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, kitchen design and other services as needed to complete the work. Construction administration will be included in the scope of work for the selected firm (except for the New Ashley Elementary School).

I. PROJECT INFORMATION

The projects are the last of the $350 million “2016 Bond Package” approved by the voters of Forsyth County in
November 2016. Projects in the bond package include(d):
• Capital and maintenance improvements ($29 mil)
• Technology enhancements ($24 mil)
• Safety and security improvements
• Traffic improvements at four campuses
• Two new middle schools
• Four replacement schools
• Four school additions
• Four school renovations

Please provide an electronic copy of your proposal, no later than 5:00 pm on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 to the
email address provided below. Three (3) original copies of the proposal shall be provided by 2:00 pm on Friday,
November 19, 2021 to the address below.

It is the intent to select a minimum of five (5) firms to interview following a review of the packages by the committee.  Further information on these interviews will be provided by Monday, November 29, 2021. It is anticipated to conduct interviews on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 and/or Thursday, December 2, 2021.
