• Program Description

    Freedom School

    WSFCS in collaboration with community partners will provide enrichment through a research-based and multicultural program model that supports K-8 scholars and their families through five essential components: high quality academic and character-building enrichment; parent and family involvement; civic engagement and social action; intergenerational servant leadership development; and nutrition, health and mental health.

     

    Program Schedule and Information

    • Program dates June 21 - July 30, 2021
      • July 5th is a holiday thus program operation is Tues-Fri
    • Daily schedule of 8am-3pm 
      • Kimberley Park, only, provides Before and After school care at a nominal fee.  Vouchers are accepted
    • Students will make a dialy committment of participation
    • Students will participate In-person
    • 50 students maximum capacity per location
    • Program is only available for the following schools:
      • Ashley Academy
      • Cook Literacy Model School
      • Forest Park
      • Kimberley Park
      • Old Town
      • Philo-Hill Magnet Academy
      • Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy
    • Parents will be notified of acceptance two weeks prior to the program start date:
      • Email
      • Text
      • Phone
        • The communication provides site assignment information as well as transportation information (if requested)
    • Breakfast and Lunch will be provided
    • No cost for students to participate
    • Registration can be done online through the Registration Link or by picking up a registration form at a school location
    • Parents will be notified of acceptance two weeks prior to the program start date:
