  • As a district, we are committed to creating and fostering safe, welcoming, and inclusive school environments for all students, faculty, and staff.  That is why our new Code of Character, Conduct, and Support for the 2022-2023 school year is so important. It is based on feedback from our stakeholders -our students, teachers, parents, school and district leaders, and community leaders. The goal of this work is focused on implementing fair and equitable practices in order to ultimately reduce loss of instructional time, increase restorative responses, and improve academic and behavioral success for every student, every day!

While our district reviews and revises its Code every year, this year’s Code comes with several changes that better align to our Core Values and Beliefs. Not only does the updated Code align to our district’s Core Values and Beliefs and supports us in reaching our goals within our Strategic Plan, but it also improves language to be more inclusive, re-imagines and places intentional focus on student support, and clearly outlines expected behavioral norms essential to a successful school culture. Therefore, this Code of Character, Conduct, and Support will serve as a blueprint for how we use discipline as a tool for restoration, accountability, and equity while also supporting the whole child, socially, emotionally, and academically.

We are excited about the revised Code of Character, Conduct, and Support and the opportunities it affords all of our students to attend and learn in a safe, caring environment. We also look forward to working with you to ensure that our schools actualize the vision of being “the best place to learn and work through excellence, collaboration, and inclusiveness.” To achieve this vision, it will take all of us working together to meet our students’ needs.  Therefore, we ask you and your students to review the Code and reach out to your child(ren)’s school if you have any questions or concerns.

We look forward to working with you to ensure that our schools remain safe and nurturing environments where all WS/FCS students graduate with interpersonal, academic, and workforce skills to compete globally and contribute to society.
