Lewisville Middle School

 

 

This is my second year working in the educational setting and I am so very excited to be the School Social Worker at Lewisville Middle School! My background is in Child Welfare, where I spent the previous 17 years working for local DSS agencies across NC, in different areas of child welfare, mostly in Foster Care.  My career started at Pender County DSS where I worked as a Foster Care Social Worker for 10.5 years and then moved back home to Forsyth County in 2016, where I started at Forsyth County DSS working as a Child Protective Services Social Worker. I was promoted after one year and became one of the Foster Care Supervisors at DSS, where I worked for the last five years.  I earned my Bachelorette in Social Work (BSW) from the University of NC at Wilmington in 2005 and then received my Masters in Social Work (MSW) from East Carolina University in 2008, where I was a Child Welfare Education Collaborative Scholar. I have a background in Solution-Focused, Strengths-based approaches and am also trauma-informed.  I have a passion for helping families overcome challenges and help them identify their own solutions, while meeting the family where they are at. I am thrilled to be a part of the Lewisville Middle School Family and look forward to working with everyone collaboratively in order to have the best outcomes for our families and community.
